Body Care Product Review: LOVEA BIO ORGANIC NATURAL AFTER SUN LOTION

About the Product:

This non greasy lightly scented after sun lotion is formulated to soothe the skin and will help prolong your tan without peeling.

What I first noticed upon opening the bottle was the gorgeous smell!  It is so unlike all the other After Sun lotions I've used, which usually have no smell, and I loved it straightaway.

I took it on holiday recently and used it every day after I'd been in the sun.

The white lotion is a good thick consistency and I had to rub it in for a while longer than my usual After Sun until it had soaked completely into my skin......afterwards it cooled my skin and made it feel lovely and soft.

I was really happy overall with this lotion and would recommend it if you're looking for an organic After Sun Lotion.

It is available from mypure at a price of £8.99 for a 125ml bottle.

Everything sold by mypure is sulfate free (sodium lauryl sulfate SLS, sodium laureth sulfate SLES, ammonium laureth sulfate ALES), paraben free & phthalate free.

Beauty Care Product Review: ALVA NATURKOSMETIC CRYSTAL DEODORANT SPRAY

About the Product:

Alva Crystal Deodorant SENSITIVE Pump Spray is a hypoallergenic natural deodorant for sensitive skin and moderate perspiration.

This neutral unscented aluminium-free and alcohol-free crystal deodorant spray effectively fights odour courtesy of the himalayan crystal salt, whilst underarm wetness is curbed by ammonium alum.

This comes in a neat little blue bottle and has a pump spray.  It is unscented so it doesn’t clash with the perfume you’re wearing.

I am afraid that this is not one of my favourite items from mypure.

The spray is in a liquid form and it is very watery so the excess dripped down my body after I’d sprayed it under my arm.  Not a very nice feeling!  It also took ages to dry which I didn’t like ….. I’m not the most patient person first thing in the morning and I just want to spray, get dressed and go …... but I was waiting around for it to dry and, eventually I gave up and just put my clothes on while my underarms were still wet - yuck!!

I will not be using this again, I am really disappointed in the product.  Did it work?  Yes, but it was no better than any other deodorant that I’ve used.

It is available from mypure in a 75ml bottle for £8.75.

Beauty Care Product Review: A'KIN YLANG YLANG COLOUR CARE SHAMPOO

This month's product review is from the A'kin range of hair care and is a shampoo for colour treated and permed hair.

The smell is divine!  It's not overpowering at all.  The liquid is thick, not too runny and it felt very gentle to use, I put on quite a large amount to get a good lather but you probably don't need that much.  My hair felt very soft when I was rinsing it, almost as if I'd used a conditioner.
I was very pleased with the results, my hair felt soft and looked shiny and my colour was retained.
I would definitely recommend this shampoo.

Available from mypure for £10.49 for a 225ml bottle.
All A'kin products use certified organic ingredients where possible.

Beauty Care Product Review: A'KIN PURE MAN CALMING AFTERSHAVE BALM

This review is by my husband as he has been using the A'kin After Shave Balm for the past few weeks.

Negative comments: The smell! I really didn't like it when I first applied it but it got slightly better as time went on.

Positive comments: Very easy to rub in and it absorbs very quickly. Not at all greasy. It didn't irritate my skin at all and my face felt soft afterwards. Overall, I was very happy with it.

This is available from mypure in a 75ml bottle for £10.99. A free sample is available on their website here

Beauty Care Product Review: LOVEA BIO ARGAN DETANGLING LEAVE-IN CONDITIONER SPRAY

My hair is straight and shoulder length and, after washing, it is sometimes very difficult to comb through as it's full of tangles. I've been using this Lovea detangler and leave-in conditioner from mypure recently and I really love it! Though it doesn't get rid of ALL the tangles it does enough to make it easier to comb out.

I sprayed it all over my wet hair, though it can also be used on dry hair. I then combed it through very easily. I didn't need to use a huge amount to make my hair look shinier and feel softer.

The bottle is small enough to put in your luggage when you go away.

As the description on mypure says "it's a real tonic for dull and fly away hair!" I certainly wouldn't disagree with that.

It is available in a 125ml bottle for £5.49.

Everything sold by mypure is sulfate free, paraben free & phthalate free.

Beauty Care Product Review: ALVA SANDDORN SHOWER GEL

Another product from mypure that I am reviewing today is this Shower and Cleansing Gel.

Alva Sanddorn say that this Gel is suitable for sensitive skins and the nourishing comfrey delivers moisture, aids in the replenishment of skin oils, refines and calms irritated skin. Also, natural wheat protein helps to increase the skin's moisture level.

I have been using this every day and it has a lovely fruity smell, which is not too overpowering. It is a clear rich gel which I really loved the feel of on my skin, but I did need quite a fair amount to make a good lather.

My skin felt nice and soft afterwards, it didn't dry out my skin at all, it just felt moisturised all day. A nice gentle product.

This is available from mypure for £10 for a 150ml tube.

Check out mypure for some great special offers on organic beauty products, everything sold by them is sulfate, paraben free and phthalate free.

Beauty Care Product Review: ALVA SANDDORN HAND CREAM

About Alva Sanddorn (Anti-Ageing):

Sanddorn is Alva's premium anti-ageing skin care range based on the cold-pressed oil of the organic sea buckthorn berry - one of the most valuable
anti-oxidants in the natural skin care world. Sea buckthorn is renowned as an effective protection against the sun's UV rays, as well as being prized for its anti-ageing and moisturising qualities.

Alva Sanddorn Hand Cream is a deeply penetrating, nourishing and moisturising hand cream that provides extensive care for stressed hands, preventing them from drying out and boosting
the skin's elasticity. As we age, along with our face, the hands are the most exposed part of the body and are therefore subjected to a multitude of environmental stressors and UV damage, leading to premature age spots and dry leathery hands. Organic shea butter and cocoa butter, along with organic sea buckthorn oil help to stimulate regeneration, providing supple hands and shiny fingernails.

I have been using Alva's hand cream for several weeks, it is ideal for normal and dry skin as well as mature skin over the age of 30 (which I am!).

It is very rich and thick and creamy and is dark yellow in colour. I loved the smell which is quite light, and while it did take some time to rub it all into my hands I really felt as if it was working deep down to protect them from drying out in the cold weather. It can be used both night and
morning.

I really love using this hand cream, it is certainly more rich than any cream that I've used before and I would definitely recommend it if you're looking for something extra or if your hands are particularly dry.
The packaging is also a pretty white, gold and orange colour.

It has not been tested on animals, is parabin and paraffin free and contains no alcohol.

It is available from the mypure website in a 75ml tube for £12.00.

Beauty Care Product Review: LIVING NATURE NOURISHING DAY CREAM, NEW FORMULA

Product Description

Living Nature Nourishing Day Cream - New FormulaTreat your skin with this nutrient rich day cream that has been formulated to deliver nourishment and protection, optimising your skin health. A unique blend of Manuka Honey and Shea Butter will restore valuable moisture. A lovely, smooth cream suitable for combination, normal, and dry skins.

As with all the products I have reviewed from mypure this is sulfate free, paraben free and phthalate free.

I have been using this nourishing Day Cream for the last few weeks. It comes in a pretty but quite plain container and I had real problems in opening it! I tried unscrewing the top, pushing it, pulling it but I just couldn't open it, until I looked on the bottle and read that you have to first remove the tag from the cap at the BOTTOM of the bottle and then it opens. Not sure if I was just being a bit stupid or it was a stupid way to open it. Anyhow, I opened it but I'm still not convinced that this is a good idea as sometimes when I pull the cap the cream spills out.

However, that is my only real complain about the product.

The cream is a lovely smooth consistency which smells divine -- I can't place the scent but I presume it is manuka honey and totara extract as those are the ingredients on the front of the box.

Living Nature claim that the plant actives can speed up the skin renewal and repair process -- and repair the damage done to your skin during the day, i.e. free radical damage, loss of moisture and UV damage. It also promotes cell repair and brings fresher, younger-looking skin to the surface.

It spreads very easily on my face and was soon absorbed. It's very light. I have combination skin and it is suitable for normal and dry skin as well.

My skin felt lovely and smooth afterwards, and it didn't get too greasy later in the day which it has a tendency to do.

As I've only been using it for a few weeks I haven't really noticed a huge difference, but I really do like the feel of it and would definitely recommend it for everyday use.

A 50ml bottle sells on mypure for £21.00.

Beauty Care Product Reviews: Lovea Tahitian Monoi Moisturising Body Lotion AND A'kin Jojoba & Lavender Conditioner

Lovea Tahitian Monoi Moisturising Body Milk

Lovea Tahitian Monoi Moisturising Body Lotion has been formulated for normal skin types.

I have been using this for the past few weeks every morning after my shower. It is very easy to rub in, and probably being a body milk instead of a cream it is quickly absorbed as well. It wasn't sticky at all and felt really soft on my skin.
I didn't have to wait long for it to soak in before I put my clothes on, unlike my normal body lotion which takes ages.
It has a lovely smell, I would describe it as 'summery' as it reminds me very much of suntan lotion.
Overall, another good quality product from the Lovea Hair and Body Care range.

It is available from mypure.co.uk in a 200ml pump action dispenser for £6.99

This is the second Lovea product that I have received and reviewed for mypure - my review of the Lovea Argan Brilliance Shine Shampoo is here

My next product review is

A'kin Jojoba & Lavender Conditioner

This is another product that I've been using regularly for the past few weeks.

Even though the A'Kin Jojoba and Lavender Conditioner is mainly for normal and oily hair and my hair can be dry I didn't have any problem with it.

I used my normal shampoo and then put this on afterwards, it has a nice, not too overpowering smell and a good thick consistency. My hair can get quite tangled after washing and while I was combing the conditioner through my hair I could feel the tangles disappearing, which felt really good.

You don't need to leave this on for it to work, as soon as you've smoothed it through your hair you can just rinse it out, which I thought was wonderful, I hate having to stand in the shower and wait for two minutes while it's working!

My hair felt wonderful after, it was so soft and looked very full and thick and was so easy to manage. I was really pleased with the results. Each time I've used it since the results have been the same.

This is available in a 225ml bottle from mypure.co.uk and costs £7.49

It is also the second time I've used an A'kin product - my review of the A'kin Pure Rose Hydrating Mist can be found here

Beauty Care Product Review: Kosmea Eighth Natural Wonder Revitalising Facial Serum

This week's beauty product review is the Kosmea Eighth Natural Wonder Revitalising Facial Serum.

About Kosmea Skin Care Brands --- Kosmea took Australia by storm in 1993 when they launched the first 100% pure certified organic rosehip oil. Since then Kosmea have gone from strength to strength with a complete range of skin care based around organic rosehip oil.

Kosmea is different to most other skin care brands in that they mostly do not make products for particular skin types. Instead by layering different products you get a perfect result for every skin type. Another benefit of this layering approach means you can customise your skin care needs on a daily basis and there's no need to switch creams as the seasons change. Just choose the cleanser for your skin type then use the product layering approach for your own skin's requirement.

Kosmea was one of the first natural skin care brands to use patented anti-wrinkle technology in their Eighth Natural Wonder Revitalising Facial Serum. This serum features in all Kosmea skin care regimes.

My Thoughts:

It comes in a pump dispenser and just one push was enough for my face and neck. The serum is an unusual consistency, the only way I can describe it is gloopy! It spread easily and absorbed quickly with no sticky residue.

I then used my usual moisturiser on top which blended in okay with no problem, my skin can be quite greasy and I found that, at the end of the day, it wasn't as greasy as normal.

I used it night and morning - in the night I just used the serum with no extra moisturiser as Kosmea say "At night-time no extra moisturiser is needed for skin that feels wonderful the very next day."

Having used it regularly now for about two weeks I can see a slight difference in my skin tone, it looks quite healthy and does feel very soft. At first I did get a few spots, particularly around my jawline and chin but these quickly disappeared after a few days. I shall keep using it for the foreseeable future and see if it keeps the wrinkles away!

A 20ml bottle costs £25.00 - the 50ml bottle is £49.99 - available from www.mypure.co.uk.

Beauty Care Product Review: Lovea Argan Brilliance Shine Shampoo

The next product I am reviewing for mypure.co.uk is Lovea Argan Brilliance Shine Shampoo for dull hair.

About Lovea Organic Hair & Body Care --- Lovea undertakes to respect people and the environment at every stage in the design and production of its products, and to offer you certified organic products that combine affordability and pleasure.
Lovea products are certified organic by the French organic certifying body: Cosmetique Bio & ECOCERT
My Thoughts:

Firstly, I'll tell you a bit about my hair - it used to be a medium brown colour but it's quite grey now so I colour it about every 6 weeks and it does have a tendency to be dry. It is very straight and shoulder length.

I have used Lovea Argan Brilliance Shine Shampoo three times now and I absolutely love it! The consistency is quite runny, the smell is fresh and light and not overpowering. I felt like I had to use more than normal to get a good lather but that's probably because it doesn't contain all the lathering chemicals that are in normal shampoos. Also the shampoo did not sting as much when it got into my eyes.

I didn't blow dry my hair, I just left it to dry naturally.

After the first wash my hair felt very soft and was so full of body, and every wash after it was exactly the same. I just loved the way it made my hair feel, it was not frizzy or lifeless (which it can be sometimes) it just looked the way I wanted it to - I never had a bad hair day! It was also quite a bit shinier than normal.

I normally wash my hair about every four days and with Lovea I could probably have left it another day or so if I'd wanted to.

It costs £4.99 for a 200ml tube from mypure.co.uk. It is more expensive than 'normal' shampoos but if you want a natural product I would definitely recommend trying this.

Overall I was very pleased with the results on my hair but, due to the cost, I probably would only use it for special occasions or save it for my holidays.
